To kick start the Michaelmas Term, our first event will be the EGM. We will be introducing our society during the first few minutes. Then we will be passing the stage to our speakers for the evening from IFOA who will be giving their individual insights on the actuarial industry. You will be able to ask any questions at the end of the session and interact with our speakers. As usual, refreshments will be served at the end of the event.

Rajinder Poonian
Currently a consultant at Grant Thornton, Rajinder Poonian has previously worked as an actuarial analyst at SunGard Financial Systems (now part of FIS). He is a qualified actuary who specialises in modelling within life insurance such as Solvency II models, predominantly using Prophet. Rajinder graduated with First Class Honours in BSc MMORSE from the University of Warwick in 2011 and was actively participating in activities and societies such as MORSE Society and Radio at Warwick.

Lloyd Richards
Lloyd Richards is currently working as an actuarial manager at Crowe, a consulting, audit and technology firm. His past working experience includes working as an actuarial analyst at Barnett Waddingham LLP for more than five years. He is also a Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries, a Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary and a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society. He has management responsibilities for a team of actuarial and non-actuarial consultants and works in risk and capital management solutions, with a current focus on model risk management and IFRS17.

Phil Bowyer
With past work experience working as an actuarial analyst at Phoenix Group and then an actuarial modeller at Pacific Life Re, Phil Bowyer currently works in the Moodys's Analytics IFRS17 product management team as an assistant director. The amount of technical and non-technical skills he possesses are extensive, namely capital stochastic modelling, With-Profits reporting, systems transformation, coding (VBA and MoSes), client management, speaking at seminars and large training workshops, selling and technical written responses.
