We are excited to announce our first collaboration with the LSESU Coding Society!

There are a lot of exciting applications for data science in the field of actuarial science and the two skill sets overlap in many ways. This workshop will be a beginners introduction to using Python with Pandas, NumPy, and Seaborn, which are major libraries in data science.

We will be doing some basic data analysis and visualisations using an American health insurance dataset and Python. Through exploring the data, we will consider some questions such as ‘Is there a gender disparity in insurance premiums?’ and ‘How would we visualise the relationship between obesity, smoking, and insurance charges?’.
